Before you build anything

Growth Systems Assessment

Most owners already have a plan. What they don’t have is an honest number attached to it.

This is three to four weeks of taking the business apart — the money, the demand, the catalog, the people, the minutes — and handing back what’s actually true.

What you get

A written assessment. What’s true, with numbers, including the parts you won’t enjoy reading.

A model. Not an opinion about whether your goal is reachable. A calculation of what it would take, laid out so you can argue with it.

A roadmap. Every fix, ranked, with a cost and an owner beside it.

The rule that makes it worth paying for

Nothing goes in the report as fact because somebody said it.

Every number gets traced to a screen, a file, or a stopwatch. Each claim is marked observed, reported, or estimated, so you can see which is which. That’s the whole product.

Plenty of people will tell you what they think. This is the version where you can check.

Not everything in the roadmap says Deadset

Each line has an owner. Some say Deadset. Some say your own people. Some say hire for it.

A roadmap where every line says Deadset is a sales document, not an assessment.

How it runs

Interviews. Days one to four. You, and the people who actually do the work.

Observation. Days five to ten. We watch one real order go end to end, with a stopwatch. This is the part that finds what interviews never do.

Data pull. Days five to twelve. Whatever the systems can actually tell us.

The model. Days twelve to fifteen.

Writing. Days fifteen to twenty.

The readout. Around day twenty-one, in person or on a call. We don’t email a PDF and hope.

Why it costs money

A free audit makes us a vendor doing unpaid pre-sales, and you’d be right to weight it accordingly.

A paid one makes the findings worth taking seriously — including the ones that say don’t build the thing you were about to build.

When it isn’t for you

You already know exactly what you want built. Then don’t buy this. Ask us to quote the build.

You want agreement rather than arithmetic. The assessment will tell you something you don’t want to hear. Better we both find that out now.

You’re under $1 million in revenue. There isn’t enough machine to take apart yet.

What it costs

$7,000 to $12,000

Depending on how much hands-on data work is involved. Fixed fee, agreed before we start — not an hourly clock you have to watch.

Typically for a business somewhere between one and five million in revenue.

Where it usually goes next

Some assessments end with a build. Plenty end with a short list your own people can work through, and we're done.
